Cookies Statement

How HAALO uses cookies.
This statement explains how HAALO Ltd (“HAALO”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on haalo.co.uk. Read it alongside our Privacy Statement, which sets out how we handle personal information. Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website: some are essential to make a site work securely, others tell us how it is being used so that we can improve it.
What we use cookies for
We use cookies to keep the website working and secure, to remember your cookie preferences, to understand how visitors move through the site, and to support embedded third-party content. We do not use cookies to identify you personally — where we hold personal information about you, it is because you gave it to us.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function: navigation, security, session management, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off, because the website cannot run properly without them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which pages are visited, how visitors reached us, how long they stay and where they hit errors. We read this in aggregate, to improve the site — not to build a picture of you. Google Analytics 4 is a third-party service and loads only after you have consented.
Functional. Used only where a page needs to remember a choice you have made, such as a display or accessibility preference.
Third-party. Some pages carry embedded content — Google Maps, YouTube or Vimeo video, LinkedIn, the podcast episodes on our Knowledge pages, and the file service that hosts our papers for download. Those providers may set their own cookies, which we do not control, and their own policies apply.
Your choices
On your first visit you can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or set your preferences individually. Non-essential cookies are not placed until you have made that choice, and you can change or withdraw it at any time through the cookie settings on the site. Your browser also lets you view, delete and block cookies — though blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site working.
Governance and review
This statement forms part of HAALO’s data protection arrangements and reflects our obligations under the UK GDPR and PECR. Where an analytics or embedded service processes information outside the United Kingdom, we satisfy ourselves that appropriate safeguards are in place. We review this statement at least annually, and sooner if the law, our website or the tools we use change materially. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its revision date shown below.
